Crossroads!

As I stepped outside my door
I saw two pathways;
Where each led, I did not know.
I tossed a coin and went the way
it guided me on that day.
I was met with a surprise.
Slippery and narrow was the path,
I could have easily my balance lost;
I always pray when in need,
To fear, I then paid no heed.
Step by step I forward moved,
In my heart a prayer,
and on my lips a smile,
Till I found to my delight,
I had crossed over to the other side.
I had neither slipped,
Nor did I fall.
This miracle I knew
Was a result of my prayers
And my Faith in You.

Ode to a Poetess came into being during the lockdown. It's during the brimming rains of August when I felt the necessity that we, women need our very own platform where we can share our thoughts in literature, as is,unaltered. This is a only women portal that welcomes all format of literature, art and celebrates it's creator, the woman who's unique, who is art herself! _Monroe Gogoi Phukan Founder of Ode to a Poetess.
