From heaven’s mighty grace,
through the winds in great debase,
I was cast onto for greatest strife
and replaced life
in it’s place.

I was sent with this only hope :
Gift mankind a hiding scope,
so may in their greatest gloom
they plant some joys,
and let Nature bloom .

I knew I had the shortest while,
to grow my image of greatest vile,
and from crawling to walking
will I roam this Earth?
and together die a natural birth
with a human smile …

Ode to a Poetess came into being during the lockdown. It's during the brimming rains of August when I felt the necessity that we, women need our very own platform where we can share our thoughts in literature, as is,unaltered. This is a only women portal that welcomes all format of literature, art and celebrates it's creator, the woman who's unique, who is art herself! _Monroe Gogoi Phukan Founder of Ode to a Poetess.
